A Raksha Bandhan celebration was organized on Wednesday, 13th August 2025, at school. The event beautifully combined the themes of values, social service, and education, and was graced by Dr. Vishal Bhushan (Rural Hospital, Wai), along with Dr. Abhishek Gaikwad and Dr. Mrunmayee Chitale. The program was presided over by Dr. Swati Deshpande (LMC member) and H.M. Mrs. Vidya Rao.

The program began in a spiritually uplifting atmosphere with the traditional worship of Goddess Saraswati, following this, the chief guests were warmly welcomed with books, saplings, and floral bouquets as a token of respect and gratitude.
H.M Mrs.Vidya Rao delivered the welcome speech, emphasizing the importance of school activities and the school’s deep-rooted commitment to social values.

A unique and eco-friendly tradition of Raksha Bandhan was observed, wherein Rakhi’s were tied not only to people but also to trees, symbolizing the bond of protection and gratitude towards nature. The message “Just as we protect our loved ones, we must also nurture and safeguard trees, our true life-givers” was effectively conveyed through this symbolic act.

Social activities were organized:

  • Doctors and nurses from the Rural Hospital, Wai were honoured with gifts for their dedicated service.
  • Members of the School Transport Committee were thanked by tying Rakhi’s and expressing gratitude for their constant service.
  • At the Sahil Akshar Institute for Intellectually Challenged Children, Rakhi’s were tied to 120 students and they were gifted educational materials and snacks. Their joyful expressions were regarded as the true blessing of the day.
  • Similarly, at the Autism Care Centre, Wai, Rakhi’s were tied and educational kits distributed, along with a donation of ₹10,000, contributing to the students’ brighter future.

The chief guests inspired the students by speaking about the importance of good health, dedication to education, and active participation in social service.
Chairperson Dr. Swati Deshpande highlighted the value of preserving relationships, mutual respect, and unity through her insightful speech.

In conclusion, the event proved to be a heartfelt and successful celebration, attended by 500 students, teachers, parents, and community members.

The vote of thanks was delivered by Mrs. Poonam Jadhav, expressing gratitude to all contributors and participants.
